Back to Normality

I've been back to work for a week now and boy... do things just move so fast like they don't care I just got back from a LOOONG holiday? Yeah, who am I to think otherwise? LOL. By today, I've already been to two workshops and several meetings, and have things scheduled up until September. Yep, all in a week's work.

Anyhow, in the middle of it all, I got some good news. Me and my family were planning to go for umrah this year. Somehow, it was so hard to get everybody's free time from our already scheduled work to coincide that we almost gave up the idea and thought of trying again for next year. Except for my mum who was really pushing for it, I guess part of the problem was not really about the scheduling but also the commitment from me and my siblings. I was a bit hesitant to go frankly. Why? Well, I could list out probably thousands of excuses to hide the fact that I felt I was not ready to go.

However, sometimes things take a miraculous turn when they are just meant to be. At first, me and my siblings got an invitation letter from Tabung Haji to attend their preparation courses. I thought they probably sent it to all people registered with them since our turn to go for Haj was expected to be in 2014. Just to relieve my curiosity, I gave them a call and was told that most probably our names were indeed in the list for this year. Still, there was a "probably" in the statement. And just two days ago, the confirmation letter arrived. We indeed are offered to do Haj this year.

I initially didn't know how to react. I had my doubts, I had my worries, I had my excuses, I had all things that I planned about work this year swirling around in my head. But after a short while, I felt blessed. All my worries just turned into gratitude that I was given this opportunity, this chance to fulfill my last piece of "Rukun Islam". Who knows if this could be my one and only chance, right? After the initial stumbles in planning for umrah, I take it that we are really meant to go this year. I hope the process will go smoothly and guys, do wish me well :)
