Home

I got dengue *_*

Fortunately for me, I didn't actually get to suffer the whole ordeal like what I heard from those people's stories on the web. I had a sudden high fever one night and that was it. I felt fine after that, although still feeling a little feverish, and went to work like normal. The only thing that got me to the hospital for a blood test was when some rashes started to appear all over my body. The test confirmed the dengue infection but my platelet and white blood cell levels were not that critical for me to be warded. All I need to do, as per the doctor's instruction, were to rest and drink a lot of water. A LOT OF WATER.

It's actually a little more than a week after the diagnosis. Although my mind thinks I'm all set to be back to work, my body seems to disagree. I heard that it takes some times for some people to get back to their normal self after going through dengue infection. I've started going back to work already but every task, even simple ones, seems to be a little slower for me to complete since my focus is not as sharp as it used to be. To be frank, I do know that my body is still weak in a way, with that "birds-flying-around-your head" feeling appearing from time to time. The doctor said I really need to rest (I even work when I had dengue since I had a few tasks that couldn't wait) as the body will need some time to recover back to normal. Guess with my health on the line, I'm forced to take a break.

As people who are close to me would know, I kinda hate holidays. It's not that I hate the extra rest or the extra time to spend with families and friends. It's just that time seems to pass so slowly and I hate the reflections of my life that come through my mind during those long pauses. The flaws in the way I lead my life, by which I mean it's all about work and nothing else, appear to be so visible during those times. I'm sure about some of those dreadful thoughts that will be flashing in my mind at some point during the break, LOL

So where I'm headed for this supposed "resting" break? HOME. My hometown. The place where all the good memories seem evergreen. All thanks to Aizat's "Sungai Lui" :)

I had dengue during A-Levels trials week so I missed the trials and had to stay in bed for more than a week! Hope you're fully recovered by now.
